1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Aurora Algorithm Inc., a corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Text Clarifier website, browser extension, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you signify your irrevocable acceptance of these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to access or use the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18 years of age, you may not access or use the Service under any circumstances.
Where the age of majority in your jurisdiction is higher than 18, you must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
🔒 Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance):
The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information as soon as possible. 3. Description of Service & AI Disclaimer
Text Clarifier utilizes advanced artificial intelligence technologies. Requests are routed through the Vercel AI Gateway to multiple providers (including but not limited to Google, OpenAI, DeepSeek, xAI, and many others as listed on the Vercel AI SDK website) to provide text simplification, summarization, and explanation services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or nature of the responses provided by these third-party AI providers.

The output provided by the Service is generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, AI models may occasionally produce incorrect, misleading, or offensive content ("Hallucinations"). You acknowledge and agree that:
- The Service should not be relied upon for professional advice (legal, medical, financial, etc.).
- You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of any information provided by the Service before relying on it.
- Aurora Algorithm Inc. assumes no liability for errors or omissions in the content generated by the Service.
4. User Accounts
- Registration: You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
- Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
- Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.
5. Fees and Payment
Certain features of the Service require the purchase of credits or a subscription.
- Payment Processing: Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We may store your billing email for invoicing purposes, but we do not store your full credit card information.
- Refunds: All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.
- Changes: We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Any price changes will be posted on the Service.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
The Service, including its underlying software, algorithms, design, and branding (excluding user-generated content and third-party AI models), is the exclusive property of Aurora Algorithm Inc. and its licensors.
Ownership of AI Output & Bookmarks
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Aurora Algorithm Inc. hereby assigns to you all its right, title, and interest in and to the specific output generated by the Service in response to your input ("Output"). You are free to use, copy, and distribute such Output for personal or commercial purposes, provided that you accept full responsibility for its accuracy and legality.
Bookmarks: Any terms or explanations you bookmark are stored specifically for your convenience and personal use. Aurora Algorithm Inc. does not claim any additional rights to your bookmarked content beyond what is necessary to provide the storage service to you. We do not sell or share your bookmarks with third parties.
7. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use the Service:
- In any way that violates any applicable national or international law or regulation.
- To generate content that is fraudulent, deceptive, or malicious.
- To reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Service.
- To interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- To process, store, or transmit proprietary or copyrighted materials without proper authorization.
Violation of these prohibited uses, or any other misuse of the application, may result in the immediate suspension or termination of your account without prior notice.
8. Limitation of Liability
Please read this section carefully since it limits the liability of Aurora Algorithm Inc. to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Aurora Algorithm Inc., its affiliates, agents, directors, employees, suppliers, or licensors be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including without limitation damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the use of, or inability to use, this Service.
Under no circumstances will Aurora Algorithm Inc. be responsible for any damage, loss, or injury resulting from hacking, tampering, or other unauthorized access or use of the Service or your account or the information contained therein.
9. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Aurora Algorithm Inc. and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees), resulting from or arising out of a) your use and access of the Service, or b) a breach of these Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
If you are a consumer located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you may benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer to rely on such mandatory provisions of local law.
